Description

Pair of French Empire Patinated and Gilt Bronze Four Light Candelabra, early 19th c., the scrolled relief candle arms upheld by a patinated figure of a winged Nike, standing on an orb, on a stepped square relief decorated base, now electrified as lamps, H. To Top of Candle Arm- 32 in., W.- 10 3/4 in., D.- 10 1/4 in.

Condition

Condition consistent with age. Lamps in working order. Exterior wiring on the candelabra arms to interior wiring through the figures and bases. Some cracking around the central branch of both candelabra. Some dark discoloration on the surface of the gilt on both stepped bases. Some minor green oxidation around the base of the central branch on one candelabra, near the figure’s right hand. An elegant pair.
