Costume sketch of Edith Head design likely for chorus women in the musical RED GARTERS (1954 Paramount). The water color sketch on art matte depicts a young woman in a Victorian era low cut dress with bustle. This sketch is for the original version of the film which was to be directed by Mitchel Leisen , who was replaced by George Marshall. Pencil notations include; "5, Grey skirt like in stripe." It is initialed by Mitchel Leisen. Information included on the back: Producer-Mr. Dugan, Director- Mr. Leisen, production # 88986, date of 3-29-53, for picnic B, 1 of 6, total cost of the six costumes is $1650, with a budget of $1500., with 24 days to complete.
