Description
Pre-Columbian, southern Peru, Ca 200 CE. Large colorful pottery beer cup (for chicha) decorated with band of spears raised diagonally, a central net band and a lower band of what appears to be jaguar teeth. Put them together and it seems to commemorate some form of hunt. 6-3/4" H.
Provenance: Ex Sarkisian collection acquired in the 1950's to 1960's.
