Approximately 300 black & white photographs. Various sizes, 5¼x7¼ to 9½x11¾". 



Scenes of the damage caused during the June 1967 conflict between Israel and Egypt as well as scenes of daily life, soldiers, military vehicles, structures, etc. Some identified and/or signed by Montfort's on the rear. Also some photographs of Morocco. A significant archive. Provenance: The Estate of Michael Montfort.



 

Michael Montfort was born in 1940 in Freiburg, Germany. He worked as a photojournalist on the staff of major German magazines - Stern, Quick, Bild am Sonntag - in Hamburg and Munich. In 1973 he moved to Los Angeles. He is best remembered for his extensive photographing of the poet Charles Bukowski.
Condition
Photos curling at edges, light wear, some marked for editing; very good overall.
