Description
A striped grey and ivory taffeta gown, late 1860s-early 1870s. the bodice with attached long peplum, adorned with gold satin and cotton Bedfordshire Maltese lace, the collar of tapelace, bust 76cm, 30in, waist 61cm, 24in (2)
Condition
couple of small stains to the chest area, perspiration stains at underarms and a few small splits forming here, overall the fabric is fresh and good on bodice and wear to silk around lower buttons. The waistband has been enlarged and frayed edge above waist cloaure. Later added lace collar. Skirt is generally good condition, functioning side pocket.
