Small seconds, silvered chapter ring with gilt Arabic numerals, finely sawn, original blued hands
Mute setting and selection lever for ‘chime’ bells or Westminster chime
Multipart, five-door, partly veneered and carved mahogany casing with glass front
Corinthian columns with gilt brass capitals to the side of the watch’s head
Three brass weights, original metal rod pendulum with gilt plain brass bob

English mahogany longcase clock of outstanding quality with moon phase, carillon and Westminster striking mechanism

The present mahogany longcase clock dating from around 1890 is a masterpiece of English watchmaking. The multipart structure is manufactured from the finest mahogany and features a Westminster chime on coiled gongs, which can be alternated with a carillon. The moon phase display, depicting a fine seascape and moon representation, as well as the gilt and etched brass dial adorned with floral décor and sculptured seed beads in the spandrels are particularly beautiful.

The clock is in very good working condition, showing light wear. Long-term precision and regularity cannot be guaranteed. The height of the clock is 275 x 69.5 x 42.5 cm.
