Item Details

Description

Tall and important Iris Glaze vase with three life-size irises in full bloom and two buds, the work of Albert Valentien in 1904. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date, shape 879 B, an incised W for White (iris) glaze and Mr. Valentien’s full signature. An added “plus” is the addition of a Gold plated silver rim which has been engraved with a floral design. This is only the third Rookwood vase with gold used in the applied metal that we have ever seen. There is no crazing. Height is 14 1/2 inches. Tall, uncrazed and beautifully decorated.
