Magna-Grecia, Ca last quarter of the 4th century BCE. Blackware pottery wine and water pitcher with bulbous ribbed base, trefoil spout and rounded handle. Maker's mark in the form of an impressed "X" at base of handle. 6.50"W x 4.50"H (16.51 W x 11.43 H cm)
Provenance: Ex-Collection of William Dale. Mr. Dale was a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's and acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures.
