Description

A hardbound copy of La Canne Objet D'Art by Catherine Dike. Written in 1988 in collaboration with Guy Bezzaz, this large book is considered by most authorities to be the bible of decorative canes. Written in French, it is profusely pictured and contains a wealth of information with the chapters on early ivory, porcelain, and silver being particularly useful. The book is now out of print and is extremely hard to find. This volume is in excellent condition and includes its original paper jacket. It reflects the extensive research for which Catherine Dike was so noted. It is part of the Richard Mandel Collection. Estimate: $600-$800.
