1776-Published Map titled “Map of the Progress of His Majesty’s Armies in New York, During the late Campaign illustrating the accounts publish’d in the London Gazette,” Extremely Fine.
This excellent 1776 Map of Colonial New York, as published in 1776 within the London Gazette. It measures approximately 12.3” x 7.8” sharply printed in deep black upon period laid paper. This is the December 1776 issue of the Map that adds additional battle information. The earlier edition (printed with a different title) was published in the October 1776 issue. Troop and battle deployments are clearly show, including the recent actions around White Plains. It also shows additional towns and roads on Staten Island and in East Jersey. A historic original 1776 period Revolutionary War Map designed to illustrate to the British people the progress of the war against the American Patriot “Rebels”. Issue folds, with deft reinforcement to some short fold separations. A nice appearing 1776 Revolutionary War Map of Colonial New York for display. Scarce and easily worth our modest estimate.
