PARIS BEADED TULLE GOWN ATTRIBUTED to QUEEN ALEXANDRA, 1900-1905. Two-piece grey tulle extensively decorated in black bugle beads and faceted paillettes, long sleeve high neck bodice having narrow tucks and beaded fringe, trained skirt with chiffon and silk linings. Petersham "Mon Nicaud Mauband & Dugdale Frs/ 2 Rue Cambon/ Paris/ 224 Rue de Rivoli. Label sewn in skirt "Her Majesty Queen Alexandra".Gown was acquired by a London dressmaker in the early 1900s for display in her shop and remained in her family until 2006. The measurements are in keeping with those of gowns worn by the Queen in the Royal Collection. B-32, W-24. (Fragile, some bead loss, lining shattered and replaced in part, large tear at waist, few small holes in tulle) fair.
