CHARLES SPENCER PATENTED BRASS KEROSENE WALL-MOUNT STUDENT LAMP, unpatterned horizontal tank with impressed patent date "PATENTED APRIL 1ST 1879", ribbed and tapered base with reverse mounting rod. Fitted with a period Bridgeport Brass Co. Leader lip burner, shade ring with impressed patent date, cased dark green umbrella-form shade, and appropriate colorless chimney. Rochester Lamp Co. Circa 1879. 8 1/2" L, 5 1/2" D mounting base. Shade 5 1/8" H, 7" D fitter.

Excellent condition, font tip with a light dent. Shade ring with some possible resoldering to spider leg attachments, remaining setup undamaged, shade and chimney rims with normal minor roughness, as made.
