Two late Victorian gem-set brooches. The first an oval-shape purple paste, with floral surround, the second a rectangular malachite cabochon, to a surround of coral cabochons. Malachite later added. Lengths 1.5 to 2.7cms. Weight 11.5gms.

The condition of this lot is fair. There are scuffs and scratches to the purple paste, the fabric to the closed back is visible through the table facet of the brooch. The back is thought to have been later added, though is of a similar era to the rest of the brooch. The malachite to the second brooch is later added.
