Description
18th Dynasty, New Kingdom, 1479-1425 BC. A composite scarab with abdomen, wing case, head and legs modelled to the top; the underside engraved with cartouche of the throne name of Tuthmosis III, 'Men Kheper Ra', to the sides two standing falcons with sun disc to the head and below the hieroglyph for 'lord'. 2.01 grams, 16mm (3/4"). From an important London collection, acquired in the 1990s.
