Description
Chinese early Qing Dynasty porcelain jar, sturdily potted in a baluster body, has a tall feminine silhouette with broad shoulders and a body that tapers to the foot or pinches at the waist then elegantly fans near its foot. The baluster jar is capped by a open-works carved bell-shaped wooden lid, crowned with a figure of an oval pinnacle stone. The exterior lavishly painted in WuCai design, the enamels are opaque and there is a wider repertoire of colours, covering much of the surface, the opaque polychrome painting, with continious scenes of children in various pursuits within a terraced playground. The collar adorned with four abundant inside cartouches with geometrical pattern band around it. The underside grooved foot rim left unglazed creme base with orange and grayish dark spotted firing marks.
Elegantly displayed upon an open-works carved hardwood stand in conforming motif. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese GuanYao porcelain Imperial wares , with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, the painting, and the shape.
