A PRIMITIVE CARVED AND PAINTED TURNED PINE CHAIR, 17TH/18TH CENTURY, IN THE SPANISH COLONIAL TASTE, the foliate diamond carved rail over a rudimentary ribbon twist, above three turned spindles above a lower repeating triangle foliate carved horizontal splat with like lower ribbon twist detail, within two ball finial topped square fluted supports over a square woven rush seat, on block and turned legs joined by an H-form stretcher, with traces of original paint decoration. Height: 37" Width: 16 1/4" Depth: 14 3/4"

There is expected chips, dents, gouges, scratches, and areas of heavy wear wear throughout. Some mild paint splatter/spray is noted. There is a notable crack under the finial of one stile. The legs appear with the most wear. The carving is rubbed and some very minor exposure to woodworm. May have a 19th century seat replacement. Overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
