Description
A late Roman pottery element with a bearded human head, c. 4th - 6th Century AD, the shaft with burnished dark brown surfaces and the head well-detailed with an opening below the chin terminating in the face of an elderly person or grotesque. L: 3 3/4 in (9.5 cm). Light deposits. Ex collection of William Major Tedder.
