The iron single bar stirrup guard is likewise in fine condition. The early, wide blade, unmarked, shows some pitting, common in these swords and in this example really not a major issue except a bit more prominent at the tip. The Japanned scabbard retains 90% of its finish, though chipped and dulled. Both hanger rings are present and the scabbard bears no dents or creases. A good example of this famous weapon.
