Nice gems, Fast service, Good communication, Reasonable prices.
I have bought over 60 colored stones from Ian. He has always responded promptly to my questions. I like the low cost international shipping with USPS-the cheapest service available, which is important when shipping to Australia. Most stones are certified by a lab. Heat treatment is usually identified, but other forms of treatment may not be mentioned. Stones identified as "natural" have not been lab-grown when I have had them examined professionally. Some have been oil-or glass-filled. Among the large number of auctions located in Southern and SE Asia, California Gemstones offers the most reliable quality and best service for me. Ian's sapphires (Ceylon), rubies (Burma), and tanzanite (Africa) have been good purchases for me. Some of his emeralds, grandidierite and tsavorite have been good gems, although somewhat small. Several of his amethyst and topaz stones have been stunning.

Good communication
Had a snafu with my shipping address and the parcel was returned to them. They contacted me immediately for the correction and turned it around the next day. I got the parcel quicker than I originally expected. Even with the error (on my part BTW)

At this time this is the ONLY GEM dealer I will buy from
I have had lots of problems with dealers from out of the U. S. A. The color will not be right or problems with fakes. So far the stones have been far better than my expectation. I am not a dealer or reseller so I do not have professional expertise. But I know what I like. This auctioneer has always got back to quickly and answered my question. I also like the rapid shipping and what I buy is not in a little plastic bag but is in a sturdy box. As far as I can tell a professional who does it the right way.

Nice looking stones
I am not a GEM expert. I am a repeat customer. The stones look good but I have not had them tested to see if they are lab or mined stones. what I paid I expect they are lab. However they will be lovely in a setting. I hope that this company has other gem auctions.
