First time I thought Akiba Galleries could have done better.....
I have purchased from this auctioneer before and had great experiences. However in this case, the item was in much worse condition than I expected-I know there is (always) a disclaimer, but the piece had clearly not even been cleaned (e. g., removal of wax spots), so it was difficult to know from the photos what was wax and what was damage to the finish. Turns out there was a lot of damage. I will touch up as best as possible, but this is one "vintage" piece that will not be a gift to anyone else!

Akiba Galleries does not deal with shipping.
I will never purchase from Akiba Galleries again. Other auction houses take care of all that and at a reasonable charge. Akiba Galleries took my money immediately after the auction but I did not receive my purchase for 19 days and that was only because I called the shipping service repeatedly. Horrible experience!

I'm very happy to own 2 pcs of Etruscans
I so am pleased to see these pcs for auction and really wanted them-around late spring I held a private party for Curator Renee Dreyfus who brought the Etruscan show to SF at the Legion of Honor and a program to follow of these early people and so these pcs really ment a lot for me. Thank you, Billy LINK: https://www. famsf. org/exhibitions/etruscans-heart-ancient-italy? gad_source = 1 & gad_campaignid = ********** 8 & gbraid = 0AAAAACdt5ISISQYMEW_1Uxcwo2dI0EJ9c & gclid = CjwKCAjwhZDUBhBGEiwAbi5bjmdSHtWoYa6vG1SC6seTf5EHDkKNJfEarr3H6pmrxtjFSbnxq2Gw_hoCbl8QAvD_BwE

Petrie Pendant
I wasn’t quite sure about this piece when I bid on it. I am so glad I did! It is an extraordinary piece of modern Native American handmade jewelry. The photograph did not fully capture its elegance.

Great
Local auction house, so I always try to pick up and look at the upcoming treasures. For over a decade, I have a good relationship with owner and employees.

Akiba is Addictive
Akiba Galleries always has wonderful and rarely available objects of desire which is why I can’t stay away from logging on to see what treasures await.. It is addictive though, so peruse with caution.. Enjoy the Hunt … it’s fertile grounds for fabuloulocity …
