I never received the item because they 'lost' it
Several days after wiring the payment I received a call from hess stating they lost the watch I won at auction. We agreed they would continue looking for it a few more days and if they were unsuccessful they would return my payment. They did turn my funds, less the bank fee I incurred to wire them the payment. MY assumption is they genuinely lost the item, and they did refund me, but my general impression is not favorable

Great Purchases!
Everything was perfect. Hess Fine Arts went the extra mile to assist me. And I'm SO HAPPY with the bracelet; was even more beautiful than the photos-a bright dazzler. They also shipped both items, and it was the best wrapped package I've ever received. One a 1-10 scale, Hess gets an 11.

Wasnt sure if it was a scam but in the end they were great to work with
won an auction for a Tag Heuer and paid them directly... the woman who handles there auctions answered the phone personally every time and called and was great to work with. We got the watch and my wife loves it.

Hess is great but shipping is expensive
Hess fine auctions is great and will return any messages sent. If you can directly pick up your winnings that would be best I guess. I had Hess ship a small watch to me and it cost $129.00. Florida to Massachusetts FedEx 3 day that took a week. $129.00 eeeks!

$660 Hammer price, $1551.79 final costs!
Expensive shipping and fees. I am OK with the 23 % premiums but shipping was overly expensive and by the time the piece arrived the final cost was 2.3 x the hammer price! Have to factor in a 2x cost on any bidding in this price range. For more expensive items I am sure this cost as a percentage drops but at this price point one should be prepared to pay double the hammer costs.

Great Auction House
Shipping was faster than expected. I think the shipping cost were a little high but who knows. Everything cost more today than last week. The item was in perfect condition and just as described. I highly recommend this auction house as they have outstanding quality items for auction. I am a repeat customer. Thanks.

I'm Happy to Report, That Hess Fine Auctions are Professionals.
We enjoy buying art, but have started slowing down, due to the stress involved in dealing with sellers and shipping issues. The item turned out to be FAKE.
The item turned out to be fake. It is not antique, main parts of the sword (blade, tsuba, and some other parts) turned out to be relatively newly made. The item is worthless.
