Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers

Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers were established in 1782 by a Mr Peter Ramsey, in a coffee shop in North Street, Bishop's Stortford. We are now based four miles north in the village of Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, in purpose built, environmentally-friendly award-winning premises which provide spacious heated auction rooms, over 200 car parking spaces, loading facilities and a sale day cafe.
We are established as East Anglia's leading Fine Art Auction Room, with a hard-earned reputation for professionalism and integrity. We have an enviable array of nationally respected specialists at our clients' disposal and conduct market-leading auctions of Silver, Jewellery, Asian Art, 20th Century Decorative Art, Fine Wine, Books and Coins. In addition, we conduct four Country House Sales a year offering Paintings, Furniture & European Works of Art and enormously popular weekly auctions of Furniture, Silver, Jewellery and Collectables.

Easy Breezy transaction
The whole experience was so amazingly smooth, that I still can’t believe it. I have to say, that in all my years buying from auctions, this was the smoothest process. I will definitely be back!

The item had to be shipped asap to New York USA and the girls that took care of the whole thing were awesome.

It has been over a week and I am * still * trying to arrange shipping. The people they recommenddd one person quoted an absolutely outrageous price (over $300) but wouldn't provide information about why the quote was that high. And now I have another shipper but he takes 24-48 hours to reply and I can't figure out how to pay. Also Sworders website didn't work for payments so i had to pay over the phone. In general a bit of a major inconvenience. Never will bid with them again.
