Item damage not disclosed until after I had paid for it
Significant damage to the fixture was concealed until after I had paid for it. After shipping the item to the U. S. at a cost of $600, I found one arm of the chandelier broken off at the point of a fragile, clumsily executed repair that did not survive shipping. When I contacted the gallery, they told me I could get the damage repaired for $50. (The repair will cost in excess of ten times that amount.) They indicated I should have the fixture repaired in my home due to its fragility. They did not offer to reimburse me for the cost of the repair. It is recommended that persons considering a purchase from Renew Gallery insist on inspecting the item in person before buying.

Over the years, I've found a number of amazing unique lights at ReNew Gallery. The place is a treasure chest. Eric is a true expert on the subject of antique lighting and his collection surpasses any other. I am sorry that he is retiring.

Nice beautiful light, received bent
Great looking light. Received bent though the box was in great shape, shipper and seller was good to resolve on bent part and my husband took care of the rest of the wobble. Surprised the item was not heavy duty made. Really really like the chandelier.

Vintage/historical lighting purchase
I’ve purchased multiple fixtures from Renew. I’m working on an historical house that had been stripped of all lighting. I needed 77 light fixtures and the fixtures I’ve gotten from Renew are fabulous!!! And, they’ve been so so help in helping to educate me, find fixtures I’m looking for, helping me arrange shipping, etc. The quality of the fixtures is incredible. It’s so hard to find quality period, inspirational fixtures and now when I need lighting, I go to Eric and Emil first.

Describing Art Work
Seller never put in description that the art work was painted on board and not on canvas, nothing not even a picture showing what it is painted on. Frame was never described that it was worn and had dents and scrapes. Never described that there were cobwebs back top right corner of frame, had to clean the back frame of cobwebs myself. Measurement of the art work description poorly represented only the height and length and not the width and that was done in inches when infact in Canada it is centimeters and what is more it did not say in break down size of frame and size of painting, just a size and not even that was not all fully presented just partially on size.

The worst online experience I've ever had
I advise anyone who is considering using Renew gallery to listen to my complaint. I purchased and item on this site. I never received the item. I called the company and was told that I had to call three different different shippers. This is a major nuisance and an unconscionable dereliction of responsibility. In the contract, there is a clause that says I must arrange for shipping myself. This is absurd. My recommendation is to avoid using this auction site.

Thank you for your feedback! The buyer is indeed responsible for making their own shipping arrangements for the great majority of online auctions. We never asked you to call 3 shippers; we gave you 3 choices to pick from in order to get the best quote-something made abundantly clear in all of our communications over phone and email.

Wish they used PayPal or other more-secure payment service
My contact with Renew Gallery was very pleasant and they were very helpful. I'm entirely pleased with my auction purchase. It would however be nice if I had felt that the payment process was a bit more secure. PayPal would be a great addition to the services. Still, I would certainly deal with Renew Gallery again, and would recommend them, based on my experience.
