Austin Auction Gallery was founded in 1983 and is one the premier Antique and Fine art auction houses in the Southwest. Since its inception, our gallery has conducted more than 3000 auctions for state and federal institutions, business liquidations, foreclosure auctions, and hundreds of estate auctions for family members, executors and trustees.
In the early 1990's Austin Auction Gallery shifted its focus to specialize in antiques and fine art. Since that time our gallery has sold some of the finest American and European antiques offered in the Southwest. Our staff has traveled extensively in Europe, South America, and even Africa in order to secure and maintain relationships with exporter/consignors. Through these travels and the hands on experience of auctioning literally ten of thousands of items our staff offers a superior level of expertise and familiarity with current market conditions for fine art and antiques.
We are located in northwest Austin, convenient to the airport and downtown Austin. Our 25,000 square foot climate controlled facility was built expressly for auctions. It features two galleries fitted with closed-circuit tv and a small cafe for your dining delight.

So Helpful and Flexible
These folks are AWESOME to deal with. I work out of town so my pick up options are limited. Doesn’t matter. They bend over backwards to make things work, as if I’m some giant customer of theirs. Prices tend to be reasonable start to finish. I’ll definitely buy again from them. They’re the first place I look when I sign on to the app.

Very nice and friendly staff.
I acquired these two vintage Tiffany necklaces from Austin Art Gallery in July of 2024. I paid for the pieces very quickly and they were nice enough to email me 3 different shipping companies they use. I chose the 1st and spoke with them on the phone. I have not received the items as of yet but I am confident that they will be as represented.

No problems or complaints about Austin Auction but expensive 3rd party shipping
Austin Auction hosts great quality items with honest descriptions. My only gripe is that the local shipping companies are predatory, knowing that buyers are far away and have few choices and relatively little time to shop pricing. Paying $145 to ship a 14 "item weighing less than 2 pounds is ridiculous. $10 for a small single wall box. $20 for 1 piece of bubble wrap. $20 to put it in the box. $96.00 for standard UPS ground service!!! It was $24.00 when I priced it out myself on UPS. Perhaps Austin Auction will take this into consideration and negotiate substantial discounts with the preferred shippers. The current situation is a disincentive to purchase items at AAG. Inflated hipping charges can discourage bidding. By the way, my shipping charge breakdown is posted just below. Otherwise thank you.
