The best part of this Katana was the photos. Had it looked at by several experts and blade is twisted and bent in an S Curve which was not disclosed. The grain of the blade is barely visible due to what looks like sandpaper marks. All 4 people who looked at this piece stated that things like the Saya was definitely not correct with a speckled black finish. The sepa are incorrect and the whole assembly is very loose. It is definitely not an Edo period blade. The description provided is not even close to what the blade is so buyer beware. It might be a $800 sword and I paid $2500 plus a $500 Auction fee. Do not make the same mistake I made and by trusting the descriptions. Do not buy anything your cannot definitively verify from from the pictures. My blade is a Show era and was described as Edo. not even close. If considering, insist on pictures down the length of the blade especially.

The auction house should ship, not UPS. UPS packing, shipping cost as much as the guitar! UPS is not efficient-

They may not offer in-house shipping but they must have a great relationship with UPS store 340 as their service was great-exceeded expectations.

Great transactions make for easy to write reviews. This item was received exactly as depicted in the auction listing. Between the buyer fees and the shipping it got a bit pricey. Alas, the item arrived promptly and it was well packaged. All good in my book.

The item was slightly damaged. And I paid for insurance; reached out to them for help they basically blew me off-offering no compensation and told me contact the UW, who never called me back.

The item I won was a bit large and unwieldy, but they found me a shipper asap that did it right. Super happy with my bid, the shipping process and what I received. Thanks,

I've won two separate items in two separate auctions recently with Kavanagh. The first was my first experience with an auction house outside my own country so I was a little apprehensive, but went ahead because of the excellent reviews. I was not let down. Despite not providing in-house shipping, they handled getting the items to my preferred 3rd party shipper (UPS store). If items of interest appear again at one of their auctions, I will bid with 100 % confidence that the experience will be stress-free.

The oil painting that i won needs an extensive professional cleaning. The colors are not vibrant as depicted in the auction photo. If i had seen the painting in person I would have never purchased it at any price because a professional cleaning is not cheap and you really dont know what the painting really looks like until it is cleaned.
