Not authentic
Disappointed. Description said vintage yet I received cheap pot metal knife. Obvious attempt to obliterate modern blade manufacturers name & logo. Will not participate in another Blackswan event. Total ripoff.

We’re sorry the buyer was disappointed, but the item was accurately described and fully photographed. It was listed as a Vintage US Custom-Made WW1-Type Fighting Knife, meaning WWI style, not an officially issued WWI piece. No claims were made regarding manufacturer or metal composition. All materials and condition details were visible in the photos. This feedback appears to reflect an expectation of an original WWI knife rather than an issue with the accuracy of the listing.

Deceptive
Very disappointing situation overall. While I was quite happy in the beginning that I won an item that I’ve been looking for at a decent price not great, but not bad contacted them shipping was a breeze. After receiving the item that’s when the problem began receiving the item not as described. One of the pieces I purchased I knew it wasn’t perfect. That’s fine. The other piece however was repaired and also damaged. It was missing enamel, which in the pictures looks like a reflection of light. On top of that the breast star center was completely inverted where somebody had incorrectly glued it back together, upside down. When confronted with this, the auctioneer said that I was wrong on both accounts and essentially indicated that the thousands of other examples as well as input from a leading medal selling company, did not know what we were talking about. Now radio silence. Do not recommend! Nothing like being told you don’t know what you’re talking about. They could have easily rectified the situation, even free shipping would’ve made me less agitated.

All items were accurately photographed and described, and the buyer acknowledged reviewing the listing images prior to bidding. The characteristics now disputed were visible in those images and were neither concealed nor misrepresented. No repairs, glue, or reassembly were confirmed, and the assertions stated in the review reflect the buyer’s personal interpretation rather than verified facts. Our communication with the buyer was professional and factual, and shipping was completed promptly and without issue, which the buyer also acknowledges. After delivery, the buyer requested a return contrary to our clearly stated auction terms that all sales are final. When this request was declined, the buyer indicated that a monetary concession or free shipping would have made them “less agitated.” We regret that we could not meet those demands outside of our published policies, but we stand by the accuracy of our listings and the integrity of our auction process. We remain committed to transparency, professional service, and fair dealings with all bidders.

At first there was issues with sending one sword outside of America as it had fishing handle. However after researching the American laws on these items, anything over 100 years old is exempt from the laws and can be shipped. The iss ue was sorted, communication was excellent, assistance and support was excellent. I have now got my items.

Timely and accurate
This was my first auction with Blackswan Antiques and I'm very satisfied with the auction and later with the payment and shipping. The items I received looked exactly like the photos and the very accurate descriptions that accompanied the photos. Did not receive my item. Claimed it was shipped to a different bidder
Won an auction. Reached out following their instructions and submitted payment. Waited 2 weeks with no update on shipping. Reached out to see what was going on and I was told my item was sent to a completely different bidder and I was being issued a refund. This was a waste of time and had I not reached out they would have never contacted me. I do not recommend this seller as there is no reason my item should have gone to another bidder. I also have no way of confirming this and it is a total possibility they were unhappy with the final sale price and choose to keep the item
