Be very very careful when buying from this action house. They use LiveAuctioneers and blame the platform for any mistakes. We were invoiced for an item that we did not bid on and were told by a woman (she said she is Donny Malone's wife) that since LiveAuctioneers has a "confirmed bid" attributable to us that "there is nothing (they) can do." This is only true because THEY DO NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING. Since she claimed this was do to "the invoicing", we offered to pay for the item, have them refund us, and they resist the item. This is the policy from every other auction house we have ever dealt with including the one we owned whenever there are mistakes. BE VERY CAREFUL as this is their policy for a $60 (sixty dollar item). VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE-and we are regular buyers.

I have been collecting and reselling for over 50 years. Prior to Covid 19 I attended many 'in house' auctions were I could preview the auction items. Of course, with Covid this changed dramatically! Fortunately I met Donny Malone, his parents, wife and little Donny. Luckily several years before I had begun attending on line Donny Malone Auctions. Over the years I often personally picked up my items, but lately I have been relying on their in-house shipper Gravity Boxes. Every single item has been packed with care and delivered in perfect condition. Rest assured if you really love an item and live too far for picking up-your item (s) will arrive quickly and safely.

Some items had damage that wasn’t mentioned. Additionally, almost every auction house loose pick up days, as long as it’s picked up soon. I asked for a couple of days later and the woman I spoke to was rude and not great. I wouldn’t buy from here again.

As we've done with countless online auction houses over the years, we requested a detailed condition report specifying whether two 19th century ceramic vases had any chips, cracks, restorations or unusual wear and were told in two separate emails: "These are in good condition" and "These are in great condition not structural damage or repairs that we see." Also, 20 photos, some of them closeups of the decor, were listed online and NONE showed any evidence of problems. However, when the shipper delivered them, we saw that they not only had "structural damage" (chips) but they also had repairs in that a full third of the rim and neck of one of the vases had a HUGE, amateurish repair and both vases had drill holes that were not original to the piece that were sloppily filled in. When we contacted Malone's to complain, we were told, "The vases are over 100 years old and are in great condition for the age. One of these without the stand sold for near the same price you bought the pair. An absolute deal you received and an incredible investment. In addition, the items were picked up in person (note: by a shipper, not us), inspected, and signed off accepting the items. You are able to reconsign the vases back into the auction." SERIOUSLY!? That was the last we heard. NO mention of the damage and misrepresentation and of course NO APOLOGY for any misunderstanding... the reason being that THERE WAS NO MISUNDERSTANDING. In fact, given the meticulous concealment of damage in the photos and the condition report, one can only conclude that this was an intentional effort to lead bidders to believe they were bidding on fully intact vases with no issues. Bottom line, a myriad of regulations and conditions that bidders are required to sign prior to bidding with most auction houses enabled Malone's Auctions to walk away with our payment of $5350 without batting an eye. Our advice to anyone doing business with these people: BUYER BEWARE.

I have won several items from Donny Malone Auctions and have always been pleased. They are always quick and efficient. I especially like their shipper, also quick and efficient. This item came exceptionally well-packed.

It's a great local house for quotidian purchases. Wouldn't bid on anything of great value, or which required special knowledge, etc. For the odd bit of this and that, a wonderful place with an honest professional staff.

I've purchased multiple times from Donny Malone Auctions, and so far have always been happy with what I won. I picked up in person as I always do, it was quick and easy as usual and I look forward to future auctions from Donny Malone!

To ship a single woman's ring, it cost over 32.00. I have had MANY rings and bracelets shipped for under 10.00. I won't be buying jewelry from them.

The item I purchased was 5 x less than the shipping. Had to abandon it. No way Im paying that much shipping. Otherwise, have had a great experience in the past.

I'm a repeat buyer with this auction house, they always have a great eclectic selection of genuine antiques and mid century modern, something for everyone. The shipping costs through their in-house Gravity Boxes shipper are a bit high, so just be prepared for that if you elect to use them (my last purchase cost 3x the price of my item to ship), but to their credit they do pack well and get items to you safely. But just a suggestion-they should look into using flat rate USPS boxes for smaller items to save buyers some money that they in turn could be investing in buying more from the auctions! Don't get me wrong, I will continue to be a customer, but $40 + to ship a $10 item that weighed 1.5lbs that could have easily been put in a flat rate box at 1/3 of that cost just leaves a lasting impression that makes me stop and think "How bad do I * really * want this?" before bidding, which kinda takes that impulsive joy out of the brave-n-crazy auction experience.

The bookends were precisely as shown, beautiful condition, the packaging was well done and shipping was fast, a little pricey but the bookends arrived her safely.

I have purchased from Donny Malone a few times, as has my mom. I always drive to pick our items up as I don't mind the trip. Pickup was quick and easy as it always is, items were exactly as described and pictured. I'm happy with my purchases and look forward to participating in future auctions.

I purchased a pair of Heisey Old Williamsburg 5 light candelabra. I explained prior to shipping that I wanted them completely disassembled. When they arrived, they had left the two glass hemispheres and the top light extension attached to the base and of course they were broken with the glass rubbing on the glass. My initial emails were ignored, phone calls ignored, I implored Live Auctioneers to help, to little avail. It's been almost a month, and I still don't have a satisfactory remedy to this, other than they saying they aren't responsible. Avoid this auctioneer and their affiliated "Gravity Boxes" shipping service at all costs. I paid more than $800 for the candelabra and shipping and am left with broken pieces that cannot be replaced. This is a shameful outfit who promises (I have the emails) that their packing is bulletproof and they would stand behind it if anything was damaged.

I purchased a print at $350 that I thought was a bargain (other impressions of this print sell for many thousands), and soon after came across more information showing that the piece was a cheap reproduction. When I called and told them the print was a fake to see about whether they would cancel the purchase, I was told it was too late-no buyer's remorse. A reputable auction house would have canceled immediately, but-fine-it was my error so I agreed to pay even though their attitude on the phone was appalling. Since I didn't want to pay for shipping, I require that the print be destroyed so that others might not be similarly mislead. I was told this would be done, made payment, but lo and behold the print was listed again at their next auction. When I contacted them asking that it be removed, I received no response. Now someone else is going to be a victim of their unethical behavior. Terrible customer service, misleading photographs and descriptions, and completely unethical. I will never purchase from them again and advise others to avoid at all costs.
