Our History Simpson's Galleries have been serving Houston's need for the very best in antique sales venues for more than fifty years. Beginning in 1962, William Simpson started educating himself and others in the art of collecting fine antiques and art objects. Simpson's commitment to excellence and accuracy is what has made our name a reliable, trusting one within the local and regional community. This reliability makes collecting antiques fun for both the educator and the consumer. It is this same commitment that allows Simpson's to do business with the confidence of three generations of experts through which to better serve you. William Simpson Jr., and his wife have continued the legacy of quality antiques dealers providing unmatched knowledge and dedication to the industry that has pleased them for so long. William and his wife travel internationally to remain proficient within the auction business, surrounding themselves with the knowledge and standards that make auctioning available to the Houston area. Currently, Simpson's is available to provide quality advice, coupled with a friendly atmosphere through which you may bring your things to sell or consign pieces to auction. Simpson's staff eagerly awaits your questions and concerns. Our very best regards, William Ray Simpson III Services General Overview of Services offered by Simpson Galleries Simpson Galleries Trusts, Estates and Appraisals Services offers advice regarding personal property assets to trusts, estates, and private clients in order to help fiduciaries, executors, advisors, and collectors meet their goals. We provide efficient and confidential advice and assistance for all appraisal and auction services, primarily focused on: - appraisals - auction estimates - communicating with Trust and Estate clients while their property is being offered for sale. Depending on the location of the property, Simpson's will offer an initial walk-through or a preliminary review of property listings and photographs (if available), in order to determine the scope of the collection and to identify the appropriate staff to work with you. We will then conduct the appraisal or arrive at auction estimates, utilizing the expertise of our generalists and specialists in relevant categories. Simpson's Estate Planning and Trust Management Services Estate Appraisals and Liquidations Estate executors, fiduciary advisors and private clients regularly use Simpson's appraisal services for a number of reasons. The services are straightforward and have been designed to make the appraisal and auction process as quick, efficient and easy as possible. Preliminary Appraisal Simpson's offers a preparatory walkthrough appraisal on location, without charge or obligation, depending on the location of the property. If access to the property is difficult to arrange, preliminary evaluations can be made from photographs accompanied by detailed descriptions of the pieces. We can then, in consultation with our specialists, advise you concerning the value of the property and suggest the best means for its formal appraisal or sale. Authoritative Appraisals Simpson's provides appraisals that are industry standards for estate and gift tax, charitable donation, insurance, estate and financial planning. If sales are considered, we will be pleased to provide auction estimates accompanied by a proposal for sale and marketing plan. With experienced specialists, we are able to provide authoritative valuations of fine art, furniture, jewelry, automobiles, wine and other valuables. Fees Simpson's appraisal fees are competitive with industry standards and based on a flat hourly or daily rate per specialist, in addition to travel expenses. We will be pleased to quote specific costs after discussing the scope and nature of the proposed work. If property is consigned to Simpson's within one year of an appraisal, all or a pro-rated portion of the specialist fee will be rebated.

Honest & helpful
Their description of the item was very precise and they were very helpful to a first-time auction buyer. The staff was professional in all their dealings but also accessible and friendly. I am very happy with the entire experience. However, I do want to warn other first-time buyers to check out the shipping costs from any distance; I was surprised at the cost, even though it was worth it.

Private international buyer and paper work...
I'm a private international buyer, not used to all the paper work needed to ship a good from the USA to Europe, so I was really glad to be able to count on the professional help I experienced with my bidding and subsequent shipping of my lot!
