Lerma, former director and chief curator of the Ateneo Art Gallery, the first museum of modern Philippine art, and head of the Committee of Art Museums of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and his wife Karen Kua-Lerma, who is trained in gemology and is a certified diamond grader (GAA). In 2019, Victor M. Silvino joined the team as its new Managing Director, bringing over 30 years of corporate experience to the company. To date, SALCEDO AUCTIONS has already successfully organized over sixty (60) public auctions. In 2015 and 2016 it was cited by the prestigious international publication Art + Auction as one of the top 250 auction houses in the world. In 2018, it sold Luna’s ‘Boceto for Spoliarium’ for Php73,584,000 (total purchase price, inclusive of buyer’s premium and VAT), the highest price ever achieved at auction for a work by Juan Luna in his homeland. A year later, it offered Félix Resurrección Hidalgo’s ‘La Pintura’ as part of The Well-Appointed Life auction event, selling it for a world record-breaking price of Php78,256,000 (inclusive of buyer's premium and VAT). It has also set several world auction records for works by National Artists Ang Kiukok, Jose Joya, Vicente Manansala, and Bencab, modern masters Mauro Malang Santos and Juvenal Sanso, as well as leading contemporary artists such as Ronald Ventura, Rodel Tapaya, Jose John Santos III and Annie Cabigting.
