Perhaps because STAIR is located in the Hudson Valley where Artists, Educators, and Cultural figures lived in the 19th century, STAIR has access to fine antiques and artworks from that era. I personally collect all things Gothic and Medieval so I was very pleased to find a Gothic Revival Chair offered at their Auction. I was even more pleased that I was the successful bidder although shipping a couple of states away, was a concern. I was happy that a Hudson, NY UPS store was able to pack and ship the chair (it was much heavier than I thought) and get it delivered to my home with only a broken dowel, easily repaired. I wish STAIR were closer, but in the meantime, I will continue to look for items that match my collecting categories. They were very attentive to my inquiries and helpful in arranging shipping. In summary, I feel they are a very good Auction house and would buy from STAIR again.

The items were as described and this auction house is well known for its quality items. Be aware that if you do not live in the area you must use Live Auctioneer shipping which is VERY expensive for domestic destinations. I do not plan on bidding on this site any more as the cost for consumers has skyrocketed.

The auction house with the worst service attitude If you buy something on the website, you can't find another transportation company to pick it up. You have to pick it up yourself. The unfair terms will drive you crazy Never buy anything at this auction house. It will drive you crazy

Painting even better than described. The entire transaction was seamless from payment on April 24th to receipt of the well packaged item on May 3. I highly recommend this auction house.

I used the local UPS which packed and sent my item a bout a week after having it in their possession by UPS... I received no heads up or tracking info and although I was told that it is out for delivery I am still waiting for it. Seems that the UPS store or UPS itself has not kept me informed. This is the last time I will use that store and think twice about Stair Auctioneers.

You guys/gals are great! Beautiful piece, well packed. I particularly like the one-stop shopping... payment and shipping without me having to expedite everything. The packaging was truly expert!

This is the second STAIR auction in which I've participated and won. The whole process was simple and clear-from the description of the lot of photographs that I purchased to the payment process to the pick up in Hudson. I am now following STAIR and will certainly participate in future auctions. Highly recommended.
