Ashcroft and Moore was great, but I can't say the same for one of their recommended shippers. I was quoted $45 "to pick up, package, and ship your items" via USPS Priority, so I authorized them to pick up my items. I then receive an invoice for nearly $70 for shipping via UPS Ground. When I called them out on their original quote, they then claim USPS Priority would be more than UPS (which I know is not true). At this point, they have me at a disadvantage, so I paid the extortion and moved on.

This item apparently was of a fragile nature. The auctioneer should have advised potential bidders of this of this significant fact. The shipping quotes were $550 to $700 for a $60 item. This was a omission of a material fact about the item that should have been disclosed. I did pay for the item. The auction house did not even bother to answer any of my emails sent to them regarding the shipping costs and/or other questions that I had.

Claim that quartz crystals had tested positive on a diamond tester was a gross misrepresentation of what was for sale... Herkimer diamonds.

I elected to use the recommended shipping company. After 7 weeks I still do not know the status of shipping. I have called and emailed both the shipping company and Ashcroft and Moore many times. No one answers. I have no idea if anyone has the item or will ever deliver the item. I understand that there was a large number of items at this auction. But there is no excuse for the lack of communication. Clearly this reflects poorly on all involved.

In the small print of the sale it said, as I found out afterwards, that all items not being picked up would be handed over to one specific company. This company is not responding. I do not know after one month where the item is. I did not receive an answer or a quote from the shipping company picked by Ashcroft and Moore. When asking for help, Ashcroft and Moore claim that they not responsible anymore. Indeed!

I even asked to have the photo taken out of the frame and shipped that way, they refused. Will nevcer deal with this company again and please be aware of companies trying to ********** you on shipping charges. That part of any auction should not be there to be profitable!
