Completely unreliable description and policy
Before bidding, they confirmed assured that the lot is free from damages including crazing, chips, cracks. Voila! All items arrived with all kinds of defects-chips, cracks, crazing, and even broken and glued. But they are irresponsible, and the offer is ridiculous. At first, they refused to bear any costs, even the fee and the shipping cost I paid, and now they insisted that I need to pay for the return shipping to avoid the refund. If you find a lot you want, think twice. The following is the message they sent to me to confirm the condition. I wasn't able to find any signs of warning from the description. "Cracks or Chips: None. There are no chips, cracks, or structural damages on any of the pieces. Crazing: None. The glaze is perfectly intact and shows no signs of crazing. Overall State: The entire set is in excellent vintage condition. The colors remain vibrant, and the porcelain has been very well preserved. Its a very clean set, ready for display or use. Please let us know if you have any other questions."

Hello Selynn, We take all customer feedback very seriously, but we must clarify the facts of this transaction transparently for our community of bidders. While a description oversight did occur on this $120 estate mismatched lot (one out of the four pieces had a structural repair and crazing that our team unfortunately missed), we immediately took full responsibility and offered you multiple fair solutions to resolve the issue: A generous partial refund with no return required: We offered to credit you 50 % of the entire lot's value ($76.20 CAD) while allowing you to keep all the items. A full refund: We agreed to refund 100 % of your invoice (hammer price, buyer's premium, and your initial shipping costs) upon the standard return of the lot to our gallery. Demanding to keep the merchandise for free while receiving a complete refund — including shipping fees that were paid directly to a third-party carrier — is a disproportionate expectation that no auction house can commercially sustain. Our return policy, which requires the buyer to cover the return shipping to receive a full refund, is the standard practice across the entire auction industry. We remain a company that is fully open to discussion and dedicated to resolving any issue in an equitable manner. BUYER BEWARE!!
This auction house is sneaky and deceitful. Won an Oiva Toikka bird. Auctioneer knowingly didn't disclose or photograph that the bird has chips on each of the 2 corners of the tail, and that the color of the tail has separated due to over exposure to UV light. The chips are not minor. If I run my finger over the chips my finger is cut. I have asked for a condition report, and now almost 2 months later they still have not provided it. They stated that their "expert" (likely the janitor) has arbitrarily decided that the chips don't affect the value of the bird and that I should expect chips because the bird is old. Excuse me? I'm an expert in Toikka birds, and have bought and sold * hundreds * of birds. The bird is * worthless *, it cannot be re-sold. They knew it was damaged and worthless thus they deceitfully did not take photos of the damage, refused to provide a condition report, and didn't disclose the damage in the lot description. Therefore I'm providing the photos in this review. I've contacted the auction house, they refuse to refund the item. CAUTION: DON'T BUY FROM THIS AUCTIONEER! You'll regret it!!

We are committed to providing the best service possible, as reflected by the vast majority of our reviews. Here is our version of the events: You did not request a condition report prior to bidding. Your request was made after receiving the item, at which point it is no longer possible for us to examine or comment on the condition, since we no longer have the item in hand. Additionally, you declined to purchase insurance for shipping, despite our strong recommendation to do so, especially for fragile items like glass. As for the condition of the item, the minor surface marks visible in your photos appear consistent with light scratches in the glass — not significant chips — and are considered normal wear for vintage glassware. Based on our experience, we do not consider this damage to affect the value significantly. Our terms and conditions are clear on all these matters and were available at the time of bidding. We are sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase, but we stand by the transparency of our auction process.

Never received item nor a refund. You would best not to business with this auction house.
I purchased a framed print where I paid an exhorbont amount for shipping because it had glass. They ask me to take the glass and frame out so the item would not be damaged and to save on shipping. I declined because I purchased the item with a frame and glass. I never received the item and they blamed it on UPS. I was not given a refund since I did not purchase insurance. I was never given a quote or verbally offered or encouraged to purchase insurance. It says on their form that any item that is fragile requires insurance and given the high cost of shipping I though it was included. I don't even know ow what they shipped and this item will probably show up in one of their future auctions. Bottom line they are dishonest and do not stand behind their sales. STAY AWAY.
