MNP Auctioneers was founded in 2004 by Stephen Soon, a Malaysian Chinese. It is the only full-scale premier art and asset auction company. MNP celebrated its 16th anniversary in year 2020, it is the only Malaysian auction company that has obtained the international standard organization in quality management service (ISO 9001: 2015 QMS) and for 12 consecutive years. During the early period of its practice, MNP was appointed by several local and foreign financial institutions to execute foreclosure auction for real estate, and it is currently still performing auction services for Standard Chartered Bank, Maybank and National Property Agency. MNP was awarded the Top 50 Enterprise Gold Award by the Malaysian Entrepreneurship Promotion Association (PUMM) in year 2011 and was awarded the National Mark of Malaysian Brand Award jointly by the Small and Medium Enterprise Corporation Malaysia (SMECORP) and the National Standard and Quality Institute (SIRIM) in 2015. MNP shas et an unprecedented history of Malaysia in 2014 for been appointed by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM, Central Bank of Malaysia) as BNM’s exclusive official auction company. MNP has since achieved record-breaking performance for BNM till to date. As the pace of art and cultural development of Malaysia is still lagging behind the global environment, the local non-real estate industries such as art, antique, luxury, cultural relics and special collectibles are still in the preliminary developing stage.
