GREAT ESTATES DAY 1: THE OHIO VALLEY AUCTION
SUMMER GREAT ESTATES AUCTION, DAY 1: THE OHIO VALLEY AUCTION Day One of our three-day America 250 Auction celebrates the remarkable legacy of The Ohio River Valley through exceptional furniture, stoneware, folk art, textiles, Native American material, glass, and decorative arts. Few regions have shaped American material culture more profoundly than the Ohio River Valley. Flowing through the heart of a young nation, the river became a highway for people, ideas, craftsmanship, and commerce. Cabinetmakers, potters, glassmakers, gunsmiths, weavers, and folk artists adapted the traditions they brought from Europe to the materials, needs, and opportunities of a growing America, creating a rich regional identity that continues to inspire collectors today. Highlights include the important Jackson, Ohio stepback cupboard illustrated in Ohio Furniture Makers, Volume II; the celebrated Lucretia Kirtland sampler that inspired the title of Ohio Is My Dwelling Place; the Long Family painted blanket chest; the second installment of the renowned Beth & Earl Trimble Collection of Western Pennsylvania stoneware; important folk art by Elijah Pierce and Ernest "Popeye" Reed; exceptional Ohio and Pittsburgh glass; Native American objects; and many additional discoveries from distinguished private collections. We invite you to continue your journey through American material culture with Day Two: America 250 – American Material Culture and Day Three: America 250 – Toys & Holiday, where the story expands to celebrate 250 years of American craftsmanship, creativity, collecting, and childhood.GREAT ESTATES DAY 2: AMERICA 250
SUMMER GREAT ESTATES AUCTION, DAY 2: AMERICA 250, AMERICAN MATERIAL CULTURE Day Two of our America 250 Auction celebrates the remarkable craftsmanship and artistic traditions that shaped American life. Rather than focusing solely on famous names or historic events, this auction honors the cabinetmakers, potters, artists, schoolgirls, immigrants, craftsmen, and collectors whose work and stewardship have preserved America's material legacy for future generations. For 250 years, Americans have expressed their ideals, aspirations, creativity, and identity through the objects they made and cherished. From masterfully crafted furniture and folk art to patriotic symbols, fine needlework, stoneware, carvings, and extraordinary works of self-taught artistry, these objects tell the story of a nation through the hands of its people. Featured highlights include the monumental "Goddess of Liberty" allegorical figure, the important John Haley Bellamy carved eagle bearing the enduring motto "Don't Give Up the Ship," exceptional American folk art by Elijah Pierce and Ernest "Popeye" Reed, remarkable works by Martha Honeywell, outstanding painted furniture, patriotic textiles, Native American artistry, and many objects illustrated in the standard reference books that have defined the study of American decorative arts. Continue the celebration with Day One: The Ohio River Valley, exploring one of America's richest regional traditions, and Day Three: Toys & Holiday, a joyful tribute to childhood, imagination, and the holiday traditions that have delighted generations of American families.GREAT ESTATES DAY 3: HOLIDAY & TOYS
SUMMER GREAT ESTATES AUCTION, DAY 3: AMERICA 250, HOLIDAY AND TOYS Day Three of our America 250 Auction celebrates that spirit of joy, imagination, and wonder through an exceptional offering of antique toys, holiday decorations, advertising, mechanical novelties, and childhood treasures spanning more than a century of American life. For generations of American families, some of life's happiest memories were made during childhood and around the holidays. The toys we cherished, the decorations we unpacked each season, the mechanical wonders that delighted us in shop windows, and the traditions passed from one generation to the next became part of our shared American story. Highlights include an extraordinary collection of rare clockwork Santas and animated holiday figures, outstanding German pull toys, exceptional tin lithographed wind-up toys by Oscar Hitt, Ferdinand Strauss, and Louis Marx, early Steiff animals, Halloween rarities, patriotic toys, advertising pieces, and many remarkable objects that continue to delight collectors just as they delighted children generations ago. These objects remind us that while technology has changed dramatically over the past 250 years, curiosity, imagination, laughter, and the joy of discovery remain timeless. Complete your America 250 experience by exploring Day One: The Ohio River Valley, celebrating one of America's great regional traditions, and Day Two: American Material Culture, honoring the craftsmanship, creativity, and artistry that helped define our nation's identity.Bidder Reviews for Amelia Auctions & Appraisals (185)

Packed to Perfection
Auction House Staff was incredibly helpful and polite when I called with questions ss this was my first time bidding with them & I am a State away, so pickup was not possible. Due to value and fragility of items I was concerned with inadequate packaging and the potential of it breaking. They assured extra packaging and insurance. It was flawless and i am so happy & Thankful!
