Really Nice Auction House
I was extremely pleased with my experience at Basel Auction House. They were very responsive to my questions and extremely polite. I am local and went to their showroom to pick up my large lot of dishes. They asked me to inspect the pieces first to be sure I am satisfied; they wrapped and packed each piece and provided boxes. They then helped me get the boxes in my car. They were an extreme pleasure to work with. I now follow their auctions and look forward to my next win!

Fraudulent Lot Description
Base, bronze, of the lamp (Tiffany style) was broken. There were no photos or mention of the base being broken in the lot description. How the break was, it did not occur in shipping.

Good Afternoon, We did not mention a broken base because, while it was in our possession, nothing was broken as you can see on the pictures we took of the lot. If the base or something was broken, you would have seen it easily in the pictures. Your lamp was picked up by the third-party shipper on February 29th, 2024. When we gave the lamp to the shipper, nothing was broken. When we read your review, we called the shipper you used, the UPS store, and they confirmed that the lamp was not broken when they picked up and shipped the lamp. If something happened, it would have had to have happened on the shipping route or later. You mentioned however that it did not occur in the shipping, what makes you believe that? From what we understand, this break should have happened during the shipping, so we advise you to contact the UPS store in order to open a claim as the shipping was insured. Since we contacted them already, they are informed of the situation and should be able to help you. Best Regards, Basel Auction House

The vases we purchased are not functional vases.
It would be nice in the description to clarify that these cases do not stand on their own. They are quite wobbly and easily tippable rendering them completely useless for holding water or being functional vases. Auction house was very slow to respond and woefully slow in shipping. We are avid auction buyers and we’ve never purchased such a misleading item and experienced such poor interaction and communication with an auction house.

I highly recommend buying and selling from this auction site. They look out for everyones best interests making sure all parties are content with the outcome of the auctions.
