Ararity's August Decorative Arts Auction
This months auction features items from various Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland and New York estates and includes a nice selection of ancient and pre-Columbian artifacts, 15th-19thC turned brass candlesticks, our usual eclectic group of antique and modern art, including many prints and paintings, sculptures and more. Antique silver includes a fine pre-revolution Russian tankard with faux wood engraving. Among the Native American objects is a fine San Ildefonso Marie black on black pot, plus an excellent and exceedingly rare Apache olla basket in amazing original condition. Standout art includes an original Gustave Baumann woodblock print, a Howard Cook print, a William Penhallow Henderson original pastel, an original William Thomas Blackburn painting, and a pencil signed Kathe Kollwitz etching. We offer valuable books, antique bronzes, militaria, and unusual middle-eastern brass and wood objects. Another highlight is a single collector's accumulation of antique wax letter seals and Buddhist items. In addition, we offer a selection of MCM furniture, including Eames and George Nelson Herman Miller pieces. One of the best in the Mid-Atlantic
As a collector who buys from many auction houses in the Mid-Atlantic, I'm glad to share a brief word about Ararity. I've bought from them several times now, and have only sterling things to say. Great items, well handled, super easy pick up and great communication. Bravo, Ararity!

Working with Nick and Ararity Auction was a smooth experience.
Nick was Excellent to work with throughout the entire process. Communication was clear, prompt, and professional from start to finish. I had a fairly unusual shipping and pickup schedule, and he went out of his way to accommodate it without any issues. Everything was handled smoothly, which made the entire experience easy and stress-free. I really appreciated the flexibility and willingness to work with my situation. Would definitely recommend and would be happy to work with him again.

Items were exactly as described. great experience
Couldn't recommend them more highly. My only issue, is that these items came in large boxes and until I asked the deliverymen to open them they didnt > They asked me to sign for receipt, and I said how can I if I can't see what's inside. So they were ver nice, and they opened them, but left all the wrapping and huge boxes and packing materials in my home. I thought they would take it with them but they said that was a different class of delivery service??? Who knew? Otherwise great experience with Ararity. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again, and I recommend them highly.
