A forerunner to the 1990's New York City art world. Sandra Gering Fine Arts Doubled as both exhibition space and personal residence. Her Greenwich Village Gallery, established in 1988, located at 14 West 11th Street, represented artwork creating a dialogue separate from the "high commercialism of the art of the 80's". Her choices were cutting edge and all close to her own personal vision as art in a holistic process and "as a return to a personally emotional content". She showed Artists such as Leo Villareal, Ryan McGuinness, Leonard Bullock and Ben Kinmont, to name a few. I am so impressed with both the quality of descriptions and responsiveness in general.
Barton & Co has never let me down. I have bid and won countless items over the years at auction with Barton & Co and find them to be professional and responsive and have the best most swoon worthy items to bid on. They seem to have access to the best collections and treat their customers/shoppers with respect. Highly recommend.

Excellent selection and excellent service
Barton & Co. is one of my favorite sellers and I always follow their sales. Cori has an excellent eye for antiques and art, and has a good enough reputation that she also is entrusted to sell a lot of high-end furniture and other items from known retailers. There always is a combination of fun, eclectic pieces and coveted brand names. What Good descriptions, and quick response if you need more information. Service is dependable; the one and only time there was an issue with a sale she took care of it right away. I've never gone wrong buying from them or selling with them.

A wonderful experience
I was so excited to have the opportunity to bid on some highly sought after ironstone cake stands. Everything went smoothly after winning the auction, and my items were shipped and arrived very well packaged. Barton & Co. did an amazing job!

Best auction experience ever
This was an amazing auction experience start to finish. Such interesting items, beautifully photographed. I had questions about some lots which Cori answered very promptly. Packing of my item was outstanding, which meant a lot as it was a gift. Both Cori and Katie were a complete pleasure to deal with. Happy to follow and purchase again. Thank you Barton & Co!
