White House Chef Auction
All of the items listed in this auction were owned by French Master Chef Pierre Chambrin. Pierre Chambrin (1947-2024) was a French-born American chef who served as the White House Executive Chef from 1989 to 1994. He came to the White House at the beginning of the President George H.W. Bush admistration. He left the White House after 18 months of the President William J. Clinton administration. Pierre Chambrin was born in Paris on September 13, 1947. He received his culinary education at the Ecole des Metiers de l’alimentation, which he attended from 1961 to 1963. He moved to the United States in 1969 and opened a restaurant called Picot's Place in Massachusetts. In 1979, Pierre Chambrin took over the Washington, D.C. restaurant Maison Blanche, located near the White House. Chambrin was appointed, under the presidency of George H. W. Bush, to succeed Hans Raffert. He was succeeded by Walter Scheib. After leaving the White House, Chef Chambrin became the executive chef at the Saint Louis Club in St. Louis, Missouri. He remained there until his retirement in 2018. The Maitres Cuisiniers de France (Master Chefs of France) named him "Chef of the Year" in 2008, and the Academie Culinaire de France bestowed its Lifetime Achievement Award on him in 2013. Chef Chambrin passed away in St Louis in 2024. All of the books in this auction have one of Chef Chambrin’s stamps, or embossed seal, on an inside page. All of the items listed within this auction are being sold by one of the owners of The Rug Life, Sabrina Chambrin Jureidini. Sabrina is the only Daughter of Pierre Chambrin. Every lot in this auction comes with a Rug Life Certificate of Authenticity that is signed by Sabrina Chambrin Jureidini. Very happy
Very rare Grateful Dead concert poster from 1967. Only a handful know to exist. This was indeed the real deal. Thrilled with my acquisition. Seller was very helpful. Removed glass prior to shipping to prevent damage. Packed very well. Described accurately.
