Will never buy from them again

The item was packaged and shipped by the auctioneer’s in house shipping. The items were packed very poorly. There was not any filler material in the box and the items only had one layer of bubble wrap around them. As a result, the items were severely damaged and broken in several places. I contacted Passion for Antiques for a refund. They offered a refund of the cost for the items which was less than I paid for them and none of the shipping cost. After some back and forth they agreed to refund the total cost of the items only stating that they are not responsible for the package being damaged in shipping (they packaged it!). I insisted that they refund shipping too as they packaged the items and it was a result of their poor packaging that resulted in the damage. The seller then refused to refund anything. I had to resolve the matter through my credit card. This is my first and last purchase from Passion for Antiques. They are terrible!

I had a very disappointing experience with this auction house. Their customer service is extremely unresponsive, making communication nearly impossible. The shipping costs are outrageous — ten times what I expected. To make matters worse, the item I received was misrepresented in the description. I felt deceived throughout the entire process. I would not recommend this auction house; it seems they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction.

I received the figurine Faun with Owl # 2107 from the auction Passion For Antiques. It had a chip on faun's ear. This damage wasn't described.

I bought the Toucan figurine from Passion For Antiques. When I received my purchase it turned out to have a chip on its tail and another chip on its beak. These defects weren't described though they significantly affect the price.

Absurd “mandatory” shipping charges, items not located in Germany as stated, finally shipped and packaged poorly destroying the frames with no insurance, threatening emails sent and now writing poor reviews of our business saying we are “art thieves”. This company auctions off other peoples items from 1st Dibs. We only hope they pay the true owners of the art. Perhaps these pieces are stolen, one will never know. We contested the shipping charge on Am Ex and they couldn’t even respond to the cc company making Am Ex hopefully noting their charge as fraud and flagging them as merchants.

Many red flags with the auction house. I have won an item for $750 but sent an invoice for 1830 (650 for shipping and 350 for packing). When i contacted the auctioneer and informed them I will use my own shipping method. They asserted that they have their inhouse shipping. Please stay away from this auction house

I took a chance participating in an auction for an auction house in another country and that appeared new to LiveAuctioneers. I was willing to bid because of their huge variety of antiques and interesting lots at very reasonable starting bids! I went into this knowing it wouldn't be as simple as bidding with a local auction house. That being said, when I did reach out for customer support before and after the auction, I did always receive friendly and professional responses. There were unfortunate circumstances related to packing & shipping and the auction house did try to make it right. I do think they are honest and trustworthy. Their pre-auction shipping estimate was accurate and I highly recommend requesting one if you plan to bid. I would not bid on extremely precious, fragile, or high value items and expect to have them delivered quickly and safely overseas. I would only be willing to bid on non-breakable items that I was willing to wait a month for. I do wish they were more transparent and forthright with information about them as an auction house to show legitimacy. Providing clear next steps and thorough terms for their auction and process would greatly help us overseas bidders. Some of the transactional and shipping emails felt mysterious and I had to guess that they were related to the auction I participated in for this auction house.

I faced excessive shipping charges from this auction and disputed them, only to be met with persistent contact until I marked their emails as spam. Their promotional material misleadingly suggests items are shipped directly from the Auction House, leading to unexpectedly high shipping fees for modest auction wins. The terms and conditions fail to clearly state these obligatory shipping costs, trapping customers into paying exorbitant prices for delivery. This experience has left me deeply dissatisfied, and I advise against supporting this auction.
