Caroline-We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your purchase, but we must respectfully clarify the facts of this situation. The table in question was accurately represented in the auction listing, with both the condition and any notable details clearly photographed and described. Upon delivery, the “damage” you raised was already noted in the auction photos, which were available for all bidders to review prior to placing their bids. After receiving the table, you requested a $200 discount and threatened to leave a negative review if we did not meet your demand. Despite this, we offered you the option of a full refund if you chose to return the table, even though returns are not typically accepted. You elected to keep the table instead. Following our decision to decline your request for a discount, you then filed a chargeback for the full purchase amount in an attempt to keep the table without payment. The chargeback was reviewed and ultimately decided in our favor by your credit card company, as they confirmed that the item was exactly as described. Given these circumstances, we respectfully prefer not to do business with you in the future. We stand by the integrity of our auction process and always strive for transparency with our bidders. Dear Carolyn, Thank you for acknowledging that the item you purchased was accurately described and in excellent condition. However, we are surprised by the rest of your review and feel it’s important to clarify a few points. You mentioned that your shipper stated they would not do business with us again. After checking with them, they categorically denied making such a statement. In fact, we have a great working relationship with this shipper, and they handle deliveries for us multiple times a week without issue. More importantly, we find it disingenuous that you chose to leave a 1-star review despite praising the product and its description. As we do not handle the shipping ourselves and you independently selected and paid the shipper, it is unfair to hold us responsible for that part of the process. We pride ourselves on providing accurate descriptions and offering unique, high-end products at exceptional value. In your case, you purchased a brand new Restoration Hardware outdoor teak sofa for $1, 250, a piece that retails for $7, 000. Given the circumstances, we respectfully prefer not to do business with you in the future. We value maintaining a community of bidders who appreciate the quality and service we offer, which requires all of our energy and focus without distractions of replying to inaccurate reviews.
