The John Fairclough Western Collection This auction is dedicated to the late John Fairclough who for many years collected material related to 1950?s Western?s, this went back to his childhood. His main area of the collection related to both USA and UK comics, over 2000 in total, so much so that he wrote a buyer?s guide, entitled Miller Western Comic Books, published in 2006 and reprinted in 2018 by Ugly Duckling Publications. The book contains hundreds of comic book cover reproductions of the Western titles published in the UK by L. Miller & Co. back in the 1950?s through to the early 60?s along with some interesting information. The collection also has some 150 books related to the subject and original artwork for some comics such as UK Comet Comic and original acrylics by artists such as Septimus E Scott and Roger Payne.
