Exquisite items
I bought an amazing French 18th century chest of drawers that I love. Because I live nearby, I asked to pick up the item, and the owners were very accomodating. The brothers who run the business are transparent and open, and passionate about European antiques. Their collection is unique and beautiful.

Re-review do to my error
Very good description. Packengers, the shippers, did an excellent pack job. I had mistakenly knocked them for a slow to ship fault in an earlier review and was promptly contacted by a supervisor. He was very courteous and professional as we reviewed the dates from payment to item received. Bottom line I owe them an apology. There shipping time was not slow, but in fact more than satisfactory. The packing job was excellent.

Oceanus Auctions is a special outfit
I bought a divine early 19thC gilded baroque French frame that some clever French person converted into a photo frame. Long story short, that purchase put me in contact with George one of the principals of Oceanus. An impassioned enthusiast, he is mostly out in Europe treasure hunting. They are connoisseurs that make it personal. Too rare. Very special. I will stay tuned!

The chandelier was bent due to poor pkg. my installer somewhat fixed it.
Auction is fine. Shipping is problematic.

Beware-do not purchase from this auction house
I received the item in significantly worse condition than described. One wheel is broken and will not roll, despite the item description saying that "the wheels function perfectly, gliding smoothly." When I contacted the auction house with photographic proof of the non-functioning wheel from the shipper that were taken at time of pickup from the auction house (which showed that the wheel did not function), the auction house began to harass me via phone, text, and email-instead of constructively engaging on the substance of my concern so that we could find a solution. The messages that the auction house sent are truly upsetting and bizarre, including suggestions that they knew where I lived. When I left a previous comment relaying this experience, the auction house again harassed me via phone, text, and email.
