Rare Gold, Space History & Australian Coins
Sale 364 presents a strong offering of Australian and international numismatics, historic memorabilia and signed space exploration material, headlined by an exceptionally rare 1856 Sydney Mint Half Sovereign, Choice Uncirculated with cartwheel lustre, with PCGS population data indicating only two Mint State examples graded, both MS62, placing this piece at the very top of known survivors. Space history collectors are offered two Buzz Aldrin signed lunar photographs, including “Descending the Lunar Module Eagle” and “Standing on the Moon” featuring Armstrong reflected in the visor. A remarkable 19th century Ned Kelly era scrimshaw horn, reputedly scribed by George King, displays intricate decoration including the British Coat of Arms and an ode to Bacchus. Friendly, helpful Auction House
Bought a lot from Small Auctions recently using the Liveauctioneers web platform. Easy to register and good detail and images provided. Communication with Small Auctions was excellent even though we are on opposite sides of the earth! Posting an packing was easy to arrange and very reasonably costed. Item arrived very quickly after the sale, safely packed and all as described. Very happy to recommend Small Auctions and would hope to deal with them again.
