Fairfield Auction is a premier regional estate auctioneer, with offices in Connecticut and California, specializing in antiques and fine art. Owners Jack and Rosie DeStories have served individuals and estates in the since 1988, handling over $50,000,000 of antiques and fine art and serving over 12,000 consignors. In May 2008, they achieved an astonishing $2,185,000 for a Tlingit warrior's helmet- the highest price ever achieved for an antique in New England. They also garnered national headlines in 2009 with the sale of a Sheldon Peck portrait for $241,000 and in 2005 with the sale of the Michael Martucci collection of Tiffany glass which grossed over $350,000. In 2004 the sale of a centaur weathervane for $253,000 (then, the third highest price for a weathervane) helped establish Fairfield Auction as a leader in the industry. Fairfield Auction maintains a staff of consultants in various areas of expertise to ensure that all items are properly estimated, cataloged and promoted.

The best experience

We had a wonderful experience with Fairfield Auction. The bidding process was clear and straightforward. The invoice was received promptly. There was a question for the tax amount, which didn't reflect neither our state, nor CA (not the auction house issue, but rather a platform glitch). I made a call to clarify. The phone was answered promptly, the person on the line was courteous, patient and knowledgeable. They took time listening to my questions, reviewed the invoice information and clarified everything. The whole thing was resolved within minutes. I received the updated invoice right away. The email communication was promt and professional. The payment was easy and fast. The delivery cost was very reasonable, the lot arrived earlier that expected and was superbly packaged. The item itself was better than expected. Absolutely wonderful! Hands down the best experience I had with any auction house. Highly recommended!

Everything arrived in perfect condition!
