Questionable Authentication and Does Not Honour Returns
Might be a good brick and mortar auctioneer but on LiveAuctioneers they do not honour returns and have extremely questionable authentication practices. Still waiting for my accepted refund for a fraudulent autographed vinyl bought through LiveAuctioneers.

Norwood Auction is a fake, Do not trust them on anything they try to sell.
Norwood Auctions, sold me a fake Babe Ruth autograph Cachet. It also came with multiple autographs by Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Walter Johnson, Tris Speaker, Connie MackNap Lajorie, George Sisler, and Eddie Collins. The discription stated it came with a COA, but when I received the item and COA, it was a company I never heard of before. I sent it out to get authenticated by a reputable company (PSA). Because there were several autographs, it took a little longer to review (47-days) After receiving notification from (PSA Company) that it was a fake, I quickly reached out to Norwood Auctions. They agreed to take it back and get reimburse. I mailed it back and now they say they never received it, while I have confirmation showing the date and time they received it. I shipped it to the address on their web/auction page. I gave them all the chance in the world to make things right. I am writing to let everyone know not to buy anything from Norwood Auctions. They are fake and liars and their signature item look real to the naked eye, but are fake. Do not trust Norwood Auctions on anything they place on the auction block. Also do not believe what ever they write back to rectify this bad review. I will continue to write bad reviews on this auction and reach out to the owner of Liveauctioneer and let them know the experience I had with Norwood Auction

Response to Your Review Dear Alberto, We are very concerned to hear about your review and want to clarify several important points regarding this matter. First, the package you claim to have sent back was never received at the address you were provided. Al specifically confirmed that he mailed the package to the address you provided in your email to him — but you did not send it there. Without the returned item, we are unable to process any refund or exchange. Second, regarding the Babe Ruth cachet you purchased: it was independently deemed authentic by two reputable certification companies. While you have submitted it to PSA for evaluation, it is important to note that PSA is not the definitive authority in the autograph industry. Their policy is extremely conservative; they frequently decline authentic items to avoid any potential liability, which benefits them financially without truly reflecting the item’s authenticity. We take pride in the integrity of the items we sell and provide accurate descriptions based on expert authentication. We stand by the cachet in question and the authenticity certifications it carries. We hope this clarifies the situation. We encourage future communications to remain factual and accurate to prevent the spread of misinformation. Sincerely, Norwood Auctions

Fake Signatures
I purchased two signed records in July: The Beatles '"Magical Mystery Tour" and The Doors' "The Soft Parade," both of which appear to have been signed by all members. I paid a great deal of money, and they turned out to be fake. A reputable Authentication company (JSA) told me these were not genuine. I tried reaching out to Norwood Auctions to get my money back, but I haven't heard back from them as of this date. It was a horrible experience with them.

Thank you for reaching out. We want to clarify the situation regarding the albums in question. Carlos had stopped at a Comic-Con – type arena, where someone casually looked at the records and gave an opinion — this was not a proper examination or authentication. We also want to be clear about authentication services like JSA. While they are well-known, they are far from infallible. JSA frequently rejects items to avoid taking responsibility, leaving collectors paying for a service that often does not protect their investment. Unfortunately, this approach can result in people losing money while the company avoids liability. Their rejection of an item does not automatically mean a signature is fake — it simply reflects a system designed to protect the authenticator, not the collector. We understand this has been frustrating, and we regret that you feel misled. Collecting signed memorabilia carries inherent risks, and we encourage buyers to conduct multiple verifications and make their own assessments before purchasing. While we strive to provide accurate guidance, ultimate responsibility for authentication lies with the buyer. Thank you for your understanding. Sincerely, Norwood Auctions

Re: Authentication Concerns Dear Zachary, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. I want to clarify a few important points regarding our auctions: All of the items we offer are consigned to us along with their certificates of authenticity (COAs). As such, we do not issue or manage the COAs ourselves. Our role is to present the items with the documentation provided by the consignors. Regarding authentication, it’s important to note that while JSA is a well-known name, they are not the only authority in the field. The reality is that this is a very competitive, cut-throat business, and authenticators often do not work together or support one another’s opinions. There are many fine and respected authenticators beyond JSA whose opinions carry significant weight in the hobby. We understand that differing opinions from authenticators can be frustrating, but this is unfortunately part of the nature of the collectibles market.
