April 5th 2008 Toy Train Auction
The one-day Saturday April 5th auction will be held at our auction gallery in the West Middlesex, PA location beginning at 10:00 AM. Stout Auctions is proud to offer for sale over 700 lots of high quality trains and accessories from several estates and collections. The cornerstone estate for this auction is from the Roger Bartelt collection, TCA # HR65-1223. Mr. Bartelt joined the Greenberg Publishing Company in 1979 and worked closely with Bruce Greenberg as a major contributor to Greenberg's prewar and postwar guides. Roger's expertise and appreciation of trains were crucial in the publishing of the Greenberg books. This auction features a large selection of manufacturers and gauges from all eras. The Lionel postwar is showcased by a red-lettered 60 trolley (mint), 3435 aquarium tank 1 tank 2 (mint), 2519 Virginian freight set mint in set box and 2023 gray nose Union Pacific Alcos. There is also a great group of 6464 boxcars and F-3 diesel locomotives. A strong collection of American Flyer S gauge will offer factory sealed All Aboard sets, boxed sets, locomotives, rolling stock and accessories. There is a variety of HO gauge including Tyco, AHM, Mantua, Athearn, Bachmann, Atlas, Rivarossi and Lionel. Other manufacturers represented will include Marklin, Bing, Rivarossi O gauge, Ives, Dorfan, American Flyer prewar, Marx, MTH Rail King, K-Line, Weaver, Williams, Atlas and modern era Lionel.
