Conditions: Carolina Estate Auctions strives to accurately describe the items being sold, but all property offered for sale is strictly AS-IS WHERE-IS with all faults. All sales are final, and no refunds are given. The sales records and recordings shall be conclusive. It is the responsibility of the bidder to determine the exact condition and authenticity of each item. No statement in this catalog shall be considered as a warranty or assumption of liability. Oral and written descriptions given by Carolina Estate Auctions staff members in person or electronically are given as a courtesy to a client, are only an opinion, and should not be considered as a guarantee of age, composition, or authenticity. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear or imperfections. A good condition report considers age and use of item with appropriate wear. By bidding, you signify that you have either closely examined the items, have chosen not to examine them, or have hired an independent agent to examine the item(s) for you.
Carolina Estate Auctions reserves the right to withdraw a lot for any reason deemed appropriate, including any lots that may have a reserve, or if there is a lack of bidding interest or lack of appropriate bids. Carolina Estate Auctions shall always have the right to withdraw any item at any time for any reason and to default any sale in the event of an error or dispute.
Terms: Sales are subject to the following terms and conditions of sale:
Bidding is available by live internet bidding, absentee, and telephone. ,Live internet bidding is available on live platforms with a 18% buyer's premium. There is no discount offered for Internet bidding or Phone/Absentee bidding.
Payment is due at the end of the auction by cash or certified funds, Visa and MasterCard and most credit cards are available for bidders paying through Live Auctioneers payment service.
Live Auctioneer bidders are invoiced through the Live Auctioneer platform. North Carolina sales tax laws are applicable for auctions. Based on location and type of auction additional taxes may be due or exempt.
Online Bids: Live internet bidding is available during the auction. Current bids on the internet will be executed on your behalf during the auction by www.LiveAuctioneers.com, Hibid.com, or other viable Internet platforms. However, Carolina Estate Auctions cannot be held liable for live internet bids that are not sent, received, or executed by the administrator. If you are bidding live, real-time on-line, please bid quickly because there is a time delay in receiving live bids.To ensure you are the high bidder, bid in person or by phone. In the event of a clerking error during auction, bidders may be notified by e-mail or messaging during auction if possible, however no lot awarded to high bidders until invoicing is complete following the auction. Winning bidders are notified by invoices following the auction.
Clocks and Watches: No representation or warranty that any clock or watch is in working order is given. There is no guarantee to works or movements. Virtually all clocks and watches have been repaired during their lifetime and may include parts not original to them.
Payment:
Internet winners must pay within 3 days of auction and arrange shipping or send shipping release. If you have a card on file with LiveAuctioneers, it will automatically be charged 72 hours after you receive your invoice. Charges are the full amount of the invoice with buyer's premium.
Ownership: Ownership of an item is conveyed immediately following the fall of the auctioneer's hammer. While we try to handle and store all items with great care, Carolina Estate Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to an item after the hammer has fallen.
Packing and Loading: Packing and loading purchased items is the responsibility of the buyer. Carolina Estate Auctions does not provide boxes, packaging materials, or moving tools of any kind. Any loading assistance provided by any staff of Carolina Estate Auctions is a courtesy and bidders should not expect to have someone available during pickup. Bidder's should bring help to load and/or pack auction lots won at auction. Appointments for pick up can be scheduled at https://calendly.com/Carolinaestateauctions--missed appointments and appointments cancelled same day as scheduled for pickup incur a handling fee of $25 due prior to release of invoice.
Storage: Unless prior arrangements are made, items remaining after May 8, are considered in storage with fees incurring; and items remaining 14 days after auction are abandoned and forfeit with no refunds of any kind. Any invoices released after storage date incur handling fees of $50-100 per lot as well as storage fees of $10 per lot per day to be paid prior to release of invoice. Bidder is responsible for being aware of terms and conditions AND shipping guidelines when registering to bid as published with the sale for preview. A bidder's failure to read terms and conditions does not release bidder from terms & conditions.
Abandoned Property: Without prior arrangements, any paid invoices / lot(s) remaining after 14 days are considered abandoned and Property of Carolina Estate Auctions. Property can be resold at auction to off-set the storage fees accrued by bidder, donated, or disposed of as determined necessary by Carolina Estate Auctions. Furthermore, Carolina Estate Auctions is not obligated to notify the winning bidder that the abandoned lot(s) will be resold at auction, donated, etc., beyond notices included on invoices and invoice receipts.
Shipping: Carolina Estate Auctions is happy to offer in house shipping on most items. Packaging costs begin at $5 per package in addition to the shipping cost. Larger items such as framed artwork or dish sets will require additional packaging fees. Please get a shipping quote before you bid. We do our best to get you the best rates and package your items to arrive safely.
Items must be paid for in full before they will be shipped. The buyer is responsible for all shipping, packaging, handling and insurance charges.

If you have not contacted Carolina Estate Auctions to arrange payment within 3 days of the time that invoice is sent, we will charge the credit card you used to register for the auction for the amount of your invoice.
