TOP RATEDSince its founding in 1871, the Salmagundi Club has been devoted to the practice and appreciation of fine art. Early members included William Comfort Tiffany, William Merritt Chase, Childe Hasam, and N.C. Wyeth, among many. The Club continues to thrive with year-round exhibitions, lectures, concerts, and demonstrations; the galleries are always alive with quality original art by living artist members and invited guests, much of it for sale. Every year in March and October Salmagundi schedules art auctions open to the public with works by its member artists. This year the auctions are available online for the first time. Upcoming auctions will be Friday, October 14 at 8pm EST (5pm PST), Sunday, October 23 at 2pm EST (11am PST), and Friday, October 28 at 8pm EST (5pm PST). Interested collectors may attend the auctions at 47 Fifth Avenue, New York City, in person where the available art will be on exhibition from October 3 through October 28. Bidding can be done in-person at the gallery or via telephone, and online at LiveAuctioneers, with opening bids as low as $100. Please read all terms and conditions in full. By registering to bid, you accept and agree to these terms and conditions with no exceptions and understand that you are entering in to a contract to abide and accept these terms.
Bidder Registration:
It is recommended that Bidder Requests be submitted at least 45 minutes
prior to the beginning of each auction. Once we have received your request,
Salmagundi will respond by email requesting that you contact us via
telephone to complete the process. Additionally, as our auctions are
approximately one week apart, Live Auctioneers stipulates that you must
apply separately for approval at each auction. However, bidders approved for
one auction will be given preferential status for approval on any subsequent
auctions in the cycle."
Place a bid only if you're serious about buying the item. Your bid is a contract. If you are the successful and winning bidder, you have entered into a legally binding contract to purchase the property bid on from the seller. Descriptions are given to the best of our ability and knowledge. No statement in these terms shall be deemed a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability on the part of Salmagundi. Please contact us to resolve any questions before bidding.
All lots are sold to the highest bidder AS IS, excluding shipping charges and sales tax, if applicable. Live on-floor bidders will take precedence over online bidders if the amount bid is the same. In the event of a tie or dispute, the Auctioneer has sole discretion to choose the successful bidder.
All items offered online will have a minimum starting bid as displayed on the online catalog. Online bids lower than the posted minimum will not be accepted.
All successful online bidders will be contacted within 72 hours after an auction to arrange payment method. All sales are final. There are no returns or refunds.
For payment, only American Express, Visa, or MasterCard is accepted and payment must be received within 7 days of the auction. No Pay Pal or Western Union, no exceptions.
BUYERS PREMIUM: 0%
There is no Buyer?s Premium. All items are sold for the final hammer price.
SALES TAX:
All items sold to New York Bidders are subject to sales tax of 8.875%.
SHIPPING:
Buyer Must Contact Shipper Directly to Arrange and Pay for All Shipping/Packing Costs. Salmagundi does not pack or ship but will, at no charge, transport items to the following shipper for packaging & shipping:

This shipper has our catalog and will be able to give you an estimate for shipping. Bidders can call or email them and give them the Salmagundi lot numbers you are interested in or have successfully purchased. It is recommended that potential bidders obtain shipping estimates, especially when bidding internationally. Salmagundi will not be responsible for loss or damages caused by shipping. If your item(s) are damaged or lost in shipping, you will need to contact the shipper to file a claim. There will be no returns or refunds.
