Rago's debut presentation of Photographs on October 25th celebrates the history and evolution of the medium, from 20th century masters of black and white to contemporary artists making innovative photo-based works. The auction is led by a strong offering of large-format C-prints from Gregory Crewdson, including the 2002 Dream House series, as well as Ansel Adams's sublime landscape, White Sunrise, Sierra Mountains. In addition to Adams, early, discipline-defining photographers Eug?ne Atget, Lewis Hine, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Berenice Abbott are represented, while highlights from contemporary practitioners include works from Cindy Sherman, Richard Prince, Edward Burtynsky, Catherine Opie, Alfredo Jaar, Lalla Essaydi, and many more.
