Itter Coverlets Quilts & Textiles

Historic 19thC Jaquard, Double Weave and Overshot Coverlets, Blankets and Antique Quilts - many signed and dated. A rare Zachary Taylor political woven coverlet. Textile Specimens from Pre-Columbian woven fragments and Open Work to woven work from Peru, Guatamala, Central and South America. Antique laces and bobbin work. Bill Itter's vintage silk necktie collection. Woven fabrics from Japan, Indonesia and Asia. Books on textiles and Vintage craft and fiber magazines from Diane Itter's studio and research library. Vintage 1970-80s fabric sample designs, quilting and gallery show catalogs in which Diane Itter's work was featured or exhibited. This fund supports the care, research, and preservation of artworks at the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art. The museum director will use the funds to support conservators, curators, research, and equipment that help protect and deepen understanding of the collection. Positions supported by the fund may be named in honor of William and Diane Itter, recognizing their lasting commitment to the arts. The public can donate directly to a separate fund for the IU School of Fine Arts through the William and Diane Itter Fellowship in Studio Art which provides for four fellowships per year to first-year graduate students int he MFA Studio Art program and two awards for MFA students for excellence in teaching.
